A person who provides in-home individualized instruction to a student that supplements the instruction provided by the classroom teacher. In addition, the regional center may pay for a tutor for a child in residential placement outside of California, since the child is still considered a California resident.

A Tutor provider offers individualized, in-home instruction to support or supplement a person’s education. Tutors must have appropriate education or experience, such as a bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of a two-year degree and relevant work experience
