Can the regional center pay for me to travel to the city where my child lives, so that I can visit or participate in their IPP meeting?

SCDD Description

Repayment for travel necessary for an IPP. This could include tickets (airplane, train) and lodging.

DDS Description

A service option to help consumers access the community when they are unable to do so on their own.

Example

Your child's IPP meeting takes place every April. They live in Los Angeles because they like their job there, and you live in Florida on a very limited income. They have depression and mild intellectual disabilities and they really want you to be at his IPP. The regional center may reimburse your travel expenses to attend the IPP, especially if the IPP identifies that a parental visit could help ease their depression.
