Can I get training to build skills for daily life, relationships, and community participation?

SCDD Description

Training and Habilitation Services are tailored to the person’s training and habilitation needs and are intended to increase the person’s ability to build relationships, participate in the community, and meet personal needs with greater independence.

 DDS Description

Training and Habilitation Services focus on teaching individuals skills to increase independence and function more effectively in daily life and the community. Services are tailored to the person’s needs and are used when skill-building is more appropriate than direct assistance, with the goal of reducing reliance on support over time.

 Example

You are learning how to prepare a simple meal, follow a schedule, interact with others, and participate safely in community activities. The main goal is building the skill, not just completing the task.
