Technology, equipment, devices, or related services that help increase independence, community integration, communication, or functional skills.

Technology services help participants increase independence, community integration, and functional abilities through the use of technology devices and supports. Services may include evaluations of technology needs, the purchase or lease of devices such as cell phones, tablets, laptops, and related applications, as well as customization, maintenance, repair, replacement, training, and technical assistance for the participant and their support network. All technology services must be identified in the participant's IPP and may only be funded through the SDP waiver when not otherwise available through the state plan.

A participant receives an assessment and obtains assistive technology that helps with reminders, communication, scheduling, or daily tasks.
