Because of my child’s fragile health, they cannot attend school for the full day. Is it possible to get a teacher to continue their education at home? Why would the regional center pay for this? Should the school district be paying for this?

SCDD Description

A person credentialed by the State of California to give lessons in specific areas and provide instructional materials related to the lessons. (In addition, the regional center may pay for a teacher for a child in a residential placement outside of California since they is still considered a resident of CA.)

 DDS Description

A Teacher provider is a credentialed educator who delivers instruction and supervision to individuals. Services include conducting lessons, preparing materials, and providing instruction in specific skill areas.

 Example

You need a credentialed teacher experienced in inclusion who can continue your child’s lessons at home because, due to health reasons, they cannot attend a full day of school.
