Are there residential facilities for individuals whose needs are greater than what most residences provide including medical services, personal care, physical therapy, or therapeutic social or recreational programming?.

SCDD Description

Specialized licensed residential care for individuals for whom an appropriate ICF-DD residential placement is not available. May include individuals with geriatric, mental health or traumatic brain injury conditions. May provide attendant care, companion services, medication oversight, or therapeutic social and recreational programming. The residence has a health focus.

 DDS Description

Facilities that provide skilled nursing services and inpatient care to consumers who would not be able to live on their own or in a care home due to the severity of their care needs.

 Example

A 73-year old individual with severe intellectual disabilities, seizures, heart problems, and diabetes needs a residential facility that can tend to their medical needs as well as their daily personal care needs, social/recreational needs and other services.
