Can I get medical equipment or supplies that help me function safely and independently?

SCDD Description

Medical equipment, devices, controls, appliances, or supplies needed for daily living, communication, safety, life support, or physical health needs.

 DDS Description

Devices, equipment, controls, appliances, and supplies identified in the participant's IPP that provide a direct medical or functional benefit and support independence, communication, environmental access, daily living activities, or health and safety needs. Services may include the purchase, installation, repair, maintenance, and training in the use of covered items not otherwise available through the state plan. All items must meet applicable safety and manufacturing standards. Items that do not provide a direct medical or remedial benefit to the participant are excluded.
