Services provided by a licensed or credentialed professional that increase or maintain health as ordered by a health care professional. This might include dental hygiene, gastrostomy and care of G-tube, or shipment of medical samples for testing, for people with mental illness and/or chemical dependency.

A Specialized Health, Treatment, and Training Services provider delivers or arranges health or dental services not covered under other service codes, as needed to meet goals in the Individual Program Plan (IPP).

Services may include medical treatments, health training (e.g., G-tube care), and other specialized supports, provided by qualified and licensed professionals.

Routine procedures such as dental hygiene or g-tube care are anything but routine when coupled with my child's extreme mental illness, which includes a fear of being touched and unpredictable aggression.
