Can I use respite when my usual caregiver needs a break or cannot be there?

SCDD Description

Short-term, non-medical care and supervision when the person who usually provides care is unavailable or needs relief.

 DDS Description

Short-term, non-medical care and supervision provided when the person who normally provides care is absent or needs relief. Services may be provided by the hour or overnight, in the participant's home or an approved setting, by a qualified agency or individual respite worker.

 Example

A parent schedules in-home respite for a weekend so they can rest while the participant keeps their normal routine safely at home.
