SCDD Description

A service that uses recreational activities to develop a person’s motor skills, social skills, sensory functioning, and appropriate behaviors.

 DDS Description

A Recreational Therapist is a certified professional who uses structured recreational activities to improve an individual’s motor, social, sensory, and behavioral skills. Services may also include counseling on leisure activities to support overall well-being and community participation.

You like playing basketball, but when you go to the park, people there do not include you. You want help learning how to be part of a team. You also want to learn more about appropriate behavior in community activities.
