While my adult family member is in a psychiatric inpatient hospital, who can provide services besides a psychiatrist?

SCDD Description

A licensed individual who works under medical supervision, providing psychotherapeutic services such as individual and group counseling.

 DDS Description

A regional center shall classify a vendor as a psychiatric technician if the vendor: (A) Under medical direction, provides psychotherapeutical services; and (B) Possesses a valid psychiatric technician's license issued by the California State Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.

 Example

Your family member is working with a psychiatric technician at the psychiatric hospital. The psych tech is helping him plan next steps once he is out of the hospital.
