Can I get a blinking-light system in my apartment to warn me of a fire or other emergency, since I am hearing-impaired?

SCDD Description

Personal Emergency Response System providing 24-hour emergency assistance individually designed for individuals who have no regular care- giver or companion for periods of time and who would otherwise require routine supervision. May include training, installation, repair, maintenance and response service. May include 24-hour answering/paging system, beepers, med-alert bracelets, intercoms, life-lines, fire extinguishers or rope ladders, light fixture adaptations (blinking lights), telephone adaptations, and other electronic devices.

DDS Description

Regional centers can help consumers become independent by helping with modifying vehicles to fit their needs.

Example

You live on your own and manage well independently. However, since you are hearing impaired and have poor balance, you need a blinking-light system to warn you of fires or other emergencies, and a life-line device to wear around your neck to press for help in case you fall.
