Can I choose who helps me with personal care and daily activities at home or in the community?

SCDD Description

Participant-Directed Personal Assistance allows the individual served, family member, or conservator to select and direct a qualified adult provider who helps with personal assistance and support so the individual can be successful at home and in the community.

DDS Description

Participant-Directed Personal Assistance provides help with daily living so the consumer can succeed at home and in the community.

The service is directed by the consumer, family member, or conservator, who selects a trained adult provider familiar with the consumer’s needs and supports outlined in the Individual Program Plan (IPP).

Example

You choose a trusted adult to help you with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, safety support, and community outings based on your IPP needs.
