Goods or services not otherwise available through the SDP waiver or Medicaid state plan, selected by the participant based on identified IPP needs. To qualify, the item or service must reduce the need for other Medicaid services, promote independence and community inclusion, increase safety at home, and not be available through another funding source. Experimental or prohibited treatments are excluded.

A participant uses an approved good or service, such as a class, membership, or item, that supports an IPP goal and increases independence.
