Can occupational therapy help me improve daily living skills?

SCDD Description

Occupational therapy helps restore or improve skills needed for daily activities through evaluation, treatment planning, instruction, and consultation.

DDS Description

Medically necessary occupational therapy services designed to restore or improve a participant's ability to perform daily living activities affected by developmental, physical, or psychosocial disabilities. Services may include evaluation, treatment planning, treatment, instruction, and consultation, and are available to participants age 21 and older. State plan OT benefits are generally limited to two services per calendar month but may be exceeded based on medical necessity. Services are provided in accordance with applicable California regulations.

A participant works with an occupational therapist on dressing, feeding, fine motor skills, sensory supports, or daily routines.
