Massage therapy uses hands-on soft tissue techniques and may be provided as part of a broader care plan for a medical condition.
DDS DescriptionMassage Therapy is the scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for the purpose of normalizing those tissues and consists of manual techniques that include applying fixed or movable pressure, holding, and/or causing movement of or to the body. Massage therapy would be provided to a participant as part of an effective continuum of care throughout the course of a medical condition.
ExampleA participant receives massage therapy to support comfort, mobility, or pain management as part of an approved care plan.
