Training, workshops, or conferences that help the participant build skills in self-advocacy, decision-making, relationship-building, problem-solving, and managing SDP supports.

Individual Training and Education Services help participants develop skills to effectively direct their own services and supports. Services may include trainings, workshops, and conferences focused on self-advocacy, employer responsibilities, decision-making, relationship-building, and exercising individual rights. Covered expenses may include enrollment fees, educational materials, and necessary transportation (excluding airfare, meals, and lodging). Services must address goals in the participant's IPP, cannot duplicate case management or Independent Facilitator services, and may only be funded after all other appropriate resources, including those available through the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) and IDEA, have been explored and exhausted.

A participant attends a self-advocacy workshop to learn how to direct services, understand rights, and make informed decisions.
