Who will help me learn skills to be more independent?

SCDD Description

A person who has the training and education to help you learn skills to be more independent. May be provided in the family home or in your own home/apartment, etc.

 DDS Description

Training for consumers to learn and improve home and community life skills. Services may be provided in the consumer's home, family home or residential facility.

 Example

You want to be more independent and want to learn how to plan meals, budget, grocery shop, cook and similar skills. The independent living specialist is a staff person who can come to where you live to help you with these skills on a scheduled basis.
