Can I contact someone I know who is a respite worker to give me some relief?

SCDD Description

An individual who provides relief for the parent or primary caregiver for a certain number of hours per month, as agreed upon in the IPP. Must have training in CPR and first aid.

 DDS Description

Services provided in the family home that enable a caregiver or family member a break from the daily care needs of the consumer.

 Example

You are friends with another parent of a child with developmental disabilities who is very satisfied with their respite worker. You would like the regional center to pay that person to care for your child while you take a break for a few hours.
