Is there anyone who can spend time with my child as a companion or mentor?

SCDD Description

There are volunteers age 55 and older, known as Foster Grandparents, who have experience working with children with developmental disabilities. They can spend time with them as a companion, mentor, tutor, or friend.

 DDS Description

Companionship Program - To start a Foster Grandparents Program.

 Example

Your child has a hard time making friends and them rarely gets out for activities besides school. You wish you could do more with them, but you work full-time and are also caring for an aging parent. A Foster Grandparent can provide extra support by being a companion, mentor or tutor for your child.
