Is it possible for me as an adult with a developmental disability, to live in someone's family home and get the support and care that I need?

SCDD Description

Residential care for adults at a certified family home that is overseen by a licensed family home agency. Typically, one or two self-advocates live with the family.

 DDS Description

Certified family homes where consumers reside. The family helps consumers with day-to-day care needs and includes them in family activities.

 Example

A family has 2 children and a spare bedroom. They have received special training to care for people with I/DD and would like to have someone live with them and be part of their family. This is a good option for self-advocates who want to move to a more family-like setting.
