Who can help me modify my apartment now that I am using a wheelchair?

SCDD Description

A service that modifies an adult self-advocate's home to make it more accessible so that the person can live safely and more independently.

 DDS Description

An Environmental Accessibility provider makes home modifications to support a consumer’s health, safety, and independence as outlined in their Individual Program Plan (IPP).

Services may include installing ramps, grab bars, or modifying bathrooms and doorways, but do not cover general home improvements. All work must be done by properly licensed providers and meet building code requirements.

 Example

Your disability now requires you to use a wheelchair. You need a service that can install grab-bars, wider doorways, modified bathroom facilities, or special electric and plumbing systems.
