SCDD Description
A person licensed to provide educational testing and evaluation. They may also provide counseling services related to school progress, understanding learning styles, handling stress and anxiety, and getting along with peers.
DDS DescriptionA regional center shall classify a vendor as an educational psychologist if the vendor possesses a valid educational psychologist's license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, and provides evaluation and counseling to assist individuals in achieving more effective educational development.
ExampleYour child loses their homework, forgets to study for tests, and does not take school seriously. An educational psychologist can do testing to help identify skill deficits and strategies to improve the child’s learning outcomes. Counseling sessions with the educational psychologist may help identify causes of and solutions to school-related problems, such as bullying.
