Specialized licensed residential care over and above other levels of licensed residential care. May also include home health care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medication administration, intermittent skilled nursing and transportation. The residence has a Habilitation focus- learning, keeping or improving skills and functioning for daily living.

Facilities that provide skilled nursing services and inpatient care to consumers who would not be able to live on their own or in a care home due to the severity of their care needs.

My adult child has profound intellectual disabilities as well as self-injurious behaviors and needs more intensive support than most residential facilities provide. That might include attendant care, physical therapy, speech therapy, medication administration and transportation in order for them to maintain and improve the skills they have learned.
