A family member may be able to choose and hire a day care worker to be with the child in the family home, as long as the family member is not the direct provider of the day care service. The regional center will only pay for services that cost more than providing the day care services to a child without disabilities and only when A family must show there is a financial need and if it will enable the child to remain in the family home.
