Where can we take our child who is in crisis?

SCDD Description

Crisis intervention facility that provides temporary 24-hour residential treatment for self-advocates who pose an immediate health and safety danger to self or others.

DDS Description

A regional center shall classify a vendor as an a Crisis Intervention Facility/Bed provider if the vendor provides temporary 24-hour residential treatment setting for persons who pose an immediate health and safety danger to self or others. Payment of crisis intervention facility services does not include room and board.

Example

Your adult child stopped taking their anti-psychotic medication. They refuses it, saying it makes them feel worse. Their hallucinations have returned, them is banging the walls, and them is threatening to run out into the street into traffic. You feel they would be safest if they is in an out-of-home placement with experts who can help stabilize them.
