SCDD Description

A program that recruits and trains volunteers to work with you to be in the community so you can engage in social and recreational experiences with individuals who do not have disabilities.

 DDS Description

Recruits, trains, and matches volunteers with consumers for the purpose of community integrated social and recreational experiences.

 Example

You would like to participate in a running club in your community but you aren't sure exactly how to start. The regional center may provide a service to you that will match you with a volunteer. That person will help you find a club and possibly attend with you at first until you meet the others in the group and become comfortable.
