Is there a residential home that can meet the needs of my adult family member who would otherwise need to live at a developmental center, out-of-state placement, or psychiatric hospital due to severe behavioral needs?

SCDD Description

A licensed adult residential facility, providing 24-hour non-medical care to individuals in need of crisis intervention services, who would otherwise be at risk of admission to the acute crisis center at Fairview or Sonoma Developmental Center, an out-of-state placement, a general acute hospital, an acute psychiatric hospital, or an institution for mental disease.

DDS Description

A Community Crisis Home is a licensed residential facility that provides 24-hour nonmedical care and crisis support for adults with developmental disabilities who are at risk of more restrictive placements. These homes serve up to eight individuals and must meet state licensing and regional center vendor requirements.

Example

Your adult family member has needs that are beyond the level of support that other residential settings can provide. They are at risk of going to a psychiatric hospital or out-of-state placement.
