Is there a home-like residential option for children with complex medical or special health care needs?

SCDD Description

A CDSS-licensed Group Home for Children with Special Health Care Needs provides 24-hour health care and intensive support in a home-like setting for children or nonminor dependents with developmental disabilities and special health care needs.

 DDS Description

A Group Home for Children with Special Health Care Needs (GHCSHN) provides 24-hour medical care and intensive support in a home-like setting for up to five children or nonminor dependents with developmental disabilities. These homes must meet specific state licensing and regulatory requirements.

 Example

A child has significant medical needs that cannot be safely supported in the family home. The child lives in a licensed home with trained staff who provide 24-hour health care and support.
