What kinds of camps are there for self-advocates where I can spend more time in nature?

SCDD Description

There are: 1) day camps for a limited number of hours per day where participants spend time outdoors; 2) residential camps that provide 24-hour support for a limited period of time, with a registered nurse on staff at all hours of operation; and 3) traveling camps that provide camping or vacation experiences at various campgrounds or tourist areas.

DDS Description

A Camping Services provider offers supervised outdoor experiences that support an individual’s social, physical, and emotional growth.
Services may include day camps, residential camps, or traveling camps, all with trained staff to ensure safety and structured recreational activities.
