Can community living support be provided in a residential facility setting?

SCDD Description

Community living support provided in a provider-owned or controlled residential setting, while still supporting rights, choice, privacy, dignity, and community access.

DDS Description

Community Living Supports are provided in a provider-owned or controlled residential setting. The participant must have a legal agreement to live there with the same tenant rights as anyone else, including privacy, lockable doors, choice of roommates, and freedom to decorate. Participants control their own schedules, meals, and visitors. Any restrictions must be assessed, documented in the IPP, reviewed regularly, and agreed to by the participant. The residential setting must comply with the ADA.

Example

A participant living in a residential setting receives help with routines, community outings, personal goals, and independence skills.
