ENGLISH

DAN (Disability Access Navigator) is a free navigation program for self-advocates, family members, and circles of support who are working with California’s Regional Center system (traditional and Self-Determination). It is available at any hour, in English and Spanish, with no account to create.

You bring a real situation: a request that has stalled, a denial letter you do not understand, a Spending Plan question, a service you were told you cannot have. DAN works through it with you, explains what the Lanterman Act and Regional Center policy actually say about your situation, and helps you decide what to do next. Most conversations end with something you can use right away, such as a draft email to your service coordinator, a script for a phone call, or talking points for your IPP meeting.

DAN answers only from vetted California sources: the Lanterman Act, DDS directives, Title 17, and published Regional Center guidance. When there is no published answer to a question, DAN says so instead of guessing.

DAN is provided by the Self-Determination Tech Alliance (SDTA), a California nonprofit. It is free forever, for everyone.

DAN (Disability Access Navigator) es un programa gratuito de orientación para personas que se autorrepresentan, familiares y círculos de apoyo que trabajan con el sistema de Regional Centers de California (tradicional y Autodeterminación). Está disponible a toda hora, en inglés y español, y no requiere crear una cuenta.

Usted trae una situación real: una solicitud detenida, una carta de negación que no entiende, una pregunta sobre su Plan de Gastos, un servicio que le dijeron que no puede recibir. DAN la revisa con usted, le explica lo que la Ley Lanterman y las políticas del Regional Center dicen sobre su situación, y le ayuda a decidir el siguiente paso. Casi todas las conversaciones terminan con algo que puede usar de inmediato: un borrador de correo para su coordinador de servicios, un guion para una llamada, o puntos clave para su reunión del IPP.

Acierto FMS helps people in the Self-Determination Program compare California’s Financial Management Services (FMS) options side by side. “Acierto” means a right choice in Spanish.

Choosing an FMS is one of the first decisions a participant makes, and the information has been scattered and hard to compare. Acierto FMS brings the options together in one place. It also helps you better understand and choose the Self-Determination model that is right for you: Bill Payer, Sole Employer, or Co-Employer. Every fact shows where it came from and when it was last checked.

You can also build a list of questions to ask an FMS directly, and find guidance on switching your FMS, both mid-year and at your annual plan renewal.

Acierto FMS is provided by the Self-Determination Tech Alliance (SDTA), a California nonprofit, and is free to self-advocates and families. It does not recommend any particular FMS. The comparison is yours to make.

Acierto FMS ayuda a las personas en el Programa de Autodeterminación (SDP) a comparar las opciones de Servicios de Administración Financiera (FMS) de California, una al lado de la otra. “Acierto” significa una elección correcta.

Elegir un FMS es una de las primeras decisiones que toma un participante, y la información ha estado dispersa y ha sido difícil de comparar. Acierto FMS reúne las opciones en un solo lugar. También le ayuda a entender mejor y a elegir el modelo de Autodeterminación adecuado para usted: Bill Payer, Sole Employer o Co-Employer. Cada dato muestra de dónde viene y cuándo se revisó por última vez.
