Community Program Development Grants Awarded Under the 2002-2006 State Plan:
There are many methods by which the Council works to promote independence, productivity, and inclusion for Californians with developmental disabilities and their families. These include:
Community Program Development Grants
As part of the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) State Plan, the Council Council's Community Program Development Grants (CPDG) provide funding for new approaches to serving Californians with Developmental Disabilities that are part of an overall strategy for systemic change. Each year the Council selects Objectives from the Council’s State Plan and seeks proposals that are new and innovative in providing services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities and their families.

Council Sponsorships
The State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) believes consumers and families should have control, choice and flexibility in the services and supports they receive. The best way to accomplish this is through increased access to knowledge on which informed choices can be based. Toward that goal, individuals and agencies may apply for Council sponsorships of up to $999 for events that promote consumer and family self-advocacy. Priority will be given to those individuals who have not previously received an SCDD sponsorship.
The Council's Sponsorship Policy was revised in December 2004.
As per Council policy, the Executive Committee is responsible for all decisions regarding sponsorships.
